Gallows View is the first novel by Peter Robinson in the Inspector Banks Series.
Plot introduction
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Banks has moved to the Yorkshire Dales from London. He intends to try to escape the stress of city life. Violence follows. A peeping tom is frightening his new neighbors. Glue-sniffing thugs are breaking into houses. An old woman vanishes; maybe murdered.
Banks is drawn to young psychologist Jenny Fuller, a problem for a married man. Both women are threatened as all three cases become tied together.
